Air France in Marrakech: booking, check-in and baggage allowances

For an Air France trip to Marrakech, check your chosen fare and the carrier actually operating each flight. Air France rules do not automatically apply to a segment operated by a partner airline. This guide, checked on 1 October 2026, helps you prepare your booking, baggage and check-in. Also reread the instructions received for your departure, particularly if you have a connection.

Prepare your booking and options

Start with 'My Bookings' to view your trip and the available options. Seat selection may cost extra depending on the cabin and fare; it does not indicate the baggage allowance. If you want to add a suitcase, compare the options offered in your booking before going to the airport. Keep the confirmation after purchase. For an itinerary involving several airlines, note the operator of each segment and check its own rules: this is particularly important for cabin baggage.

Check-in and boarding pass

Air France online check-in generally opens 30 hours before departure, with stated exceptions for certain flights. It is available on the website or app using your booking details. The pass can be obtained in various ways, but if it cannot be issued online, the airline asks you to collect it at the counter. In Marrakech, follow your booking's instructions: this guide does not guarantee that your phone alone is sufficient for your flight. A confirmed booking does not replace a boarding pass.

Allow enough time at the airport

Check the reporting time shown on your boarding pass. If none is given, Air France recommends arriving 3 hours before an international flight. Distinguish this recommendation from the baggage drop deadline and the end of boarding. If your pass must be handed over at the counter or an additional check is required, allow extra time. After checking a suitcase, keep its receipt until collection and monitor the gate information sent for your flight.

Cabin baggage: pay attention to the Basic fare

In Economy, the current policy allows a small bag and zero to one cabin bag depending on the fare, with a maximum combined weight of 12 kg. The small bag may measure up to 40 × 30 × 15 cm; the cabin suitcase up to 55 × 35 × 25 cm, including external fittings. With a Basic fare, an option may be required for the larger suitcase, subject to applicable status benefits. Check the booking: the older assumption that a cabin suitcase is always included does not apply to every ticket.

Hold baggage, assistance and contact

Check the included allowance before buying additional baggage. The options page states that a standard additional piece may weigh up to 23 kg in Economy or Premium and measure 158 cm in total dimensions; this is not a promise of a free suitcase. Excess weight or size is covered by separate options. For disability or mobility assistance, submit the request when booking and at least 48 hours before the first flight. The official 'Contact us' section remains the starting point for booking or service difficulties.

Frequently asked questions

Does an Air France ticket always include a large cabin suitcase?

No. In Economy, inclusion depends on the fare and possibly your status. Check the Basic fare conditions in particular.

Which rules should I follow if a partner operates a connecting flight?

Check that carrier's rules. Air France recommends following the most restrictive cabin baggage rule throughout the journey.
